A sit spot is any place you can safely observe nature and the environment around you. A sit spot can be anywhere and offer different opportunities for communities to be in nature where they are most comfortable. Finding a sit spot helps us notice and wonder more about the nature around us. Building this relationship with nature is important for our health, wildlife, and the future of the spaces we all share. One way to engage more deeply in this activity is through nature journaling. A nature journal is a tool we use to draw, record, and look more closely at our sit spots.
Here are a few items you may want to bring along to nature journal in your sit spot!
You can find a sit spot anywhere at home, in your neighborhood, or at the Zoo!
